swimming in rivers of words..
Jan. 17th, 2007 08:06 pmI realized just how meticulous I am when it comes to books. I went to ATC (with a free ride from Joshua) to spend my Christmas money. Since the business venture wasn't pursued I can use all my money to my discretion! Anyway, I got to National BookStore by 2:45pm. They had this books for sale outide the store. (Shopper Tip #1: Stores usually have clearance sales by January towards the end of the month. They gotta lose all those old stuff.)I spent 30 minutes just looking all over the books. After that, I chose this inspirational book that usually cost around P300, which now cost me a hundred. Bargain, eh? Soon after, I went inside to get me an expensive book this time, but then I saw that they still had two other racks of books on sale! I don't know how the hours wheed by, but by the time I sought to leave it was 4:30 in my watch. Talk about super extensive reading!
I like window shopping books. Every synopsis is a totally different world. Every world is something you want to discover (yet can't), and that aspiration is something that motivates you to be one with that world and live a different life from then on. Each time I exit from a bookstore, I feel like I've been introduced to dozens of people - dragon riders, monster slayers, child warlocks, private detectives, mysterious heirs to thrones, whimsical magicians, tree nymphs, criminal masterminds, adventurous scholars, even normal people.
Really, if God would grant me an all-expense paid gift check of any store I prefer, it would be National BookStore. (Powerbooks isn't bad either..)
