jumpin for joy..
Jan. 22nd, 2007 07:34 pmWhat is this?! If you were the captain of a boat, your ship would have sunk...
Shia swallowed the memory of her last private encounter with Ms. Ella. The last time that a sermon had rolled down her gut was when Ella criticized her group's English research project. She had used the rest of the days reminding her group of their assigned tasks. Sleepless nights, sore fingers, swollen heads. Agonizing memories flashed through mind as the woman with the bulging stomach scanned through their revised masterpiece.
Eleven days. Eleven days of constant reminding and editing. How will it go now?...
"RT 1 group leader."
Shia snapped out of her revery. She glanced at her groupmates before going off to the teacher's table.
Moment of truth., she told herself. The lass held her breath, counting her steps and thinking of the many possible scrutinies she was about to hear.
"I like your paper."
Three seconds of writer's bliss.
"Ma'am?.."
Shia let her eyes fall on Cleo's introduction. Had the first page made so much an impression?
"I have to admit, Ms. Shia, out of ten papers that I have read so far, yours is the best."
Shia's tried hard to hide the smile she was containing. The best. Such a sweet word. Even sweeter if heard. The next few seconds were used to discuss some suggestions for improvement. Minor things, thankfully.., Shia thought, like the page numbers, the layout, the acknowledgement of sources. But all these little details were at the deepest part of Shia's disk space. What mattered was what she said, what she wrote:
This study is promising. Keep it up!
When the conversation was over, Shia went to Tari and Reiji, posing the biggest smile her apathetic self could possibly produce. Congratulations, guys...
I guess some things are worth striving for..
I am so overwhelmed with joy that I just had to write it down. Tee-hee.
